Jose Mourinho admits he will need to control his emotions when he travels to Stamford Bridge, but he will do so with confidence after Inter Milan defeated Chelsea 2-1 in their UEFA Champions League last-16 first-leg tie.
Diego Milito gave the Serie A giants a third minute advantage at the Giuseppe Meazza, but Salomon Kalou equalised early in the second half.
Inter, though, earned a narrow win thanks to Esteban Cambiasso's excellent strike and former Chelsea manager Mourinho will therefore return to West London on 16th March with a degree of belief.
"We can go there with a legitimate ambition to go through," said the Inter boss. "The most important thing is the result and we are ahead.
Feelings
"It's not obviously the result which ends the tie, it's not 3-0 or 4-0, but no team is leading by two goals at this stage of the Champions League."
But Mourinho has no fears about being able to put his own feelings to one side, adding: "I have to control my emotions and have to be professional like I was today.
"In the tunnel, it is not a normal game for me, and it is not for them either, but when the game starts, it becomes normal for them and for me; they want to win and I want to win.
"At Stamford Bridge, I don't expect anything other than people to be glad to have me back as we worked so well together.
"This time I will go back to a different dressing room, a different dugout, but I know normally Mourinho is lucky at Stamford Bridge." |
